Does anyone know if wheels with a 5x4.75 bolt pattern would fit on a car that came with 5x4.5s? Reason I’m asking is I had this crazy weird inspiration to put C4 Sawblades on my ‘97 Crown Vic LX. Have a Volvo 240 rolling on some aforementioned Sawblades for your time.
EDIT: Ok, so I asked a pretty stupid question. Sorry about that. Mainly what I’m really trying to figure out is what is the best way (or easiest way) to get 5x4.75s to fit on a 5x4.5. I don’t know why and I don’t understand it in any way, but I have my heart set on the look of the C4 Sawblade wheels on my Vic. Of course I’d be open to other wheels (turbofans?) if they’re of a similar style and right bolt pattern, lol.
So, I’ve definitely ruled out drilling them to fit. So now it looks like I’d have to do a hub swap? I’m already planning on upgrading the brakes, so would I be able to swap over, say a CTS-V brake set to get the bigger brakes and the right bolt pattern? Would I need to swap the axles too? Thank you everyone for your replies and sorry I had a momentary lapse in logic. Won’t happen again ;)

They wont fit (without a redrill), cause 4.5 is smaller than 4.75

4.75 and 4.5 are definitely not compatible. You might be able to find adapters though.

Will require either remachining the wheels (close to impossible), dicking with the hubs AND brakes, fitting adapter plates if you somehow have an inch plus to spare (you don’t), or getting a Chevy Caprice or Jag, because that would have your elusive 4.75.

Forgot to mention, sawblades would be a perfect rim to use adapters on, since they have such a large offset. That is almost certainly what the car in your picture has.

See if you can find 4.5 hubs that swap in (doubtful though).
I’ve only ever seen one person successfully re-machine a wheel’s bolt pattern, and that was on a steel wheel, and they ended up not keeping them. The balanced perfectly, but they just didn’t like the look after a while. I should also mention that guy is a custom fabricator, so the cost was just his time, as opposed to paying someone else for the whole job.

No.
Ford vs. Chevy bolt pattern. I’m sure there are adapters, but pick good ones.

Yeah that’s a no go on the fitment, and i don’t think the vette wheels will take kindly to a redrill. A machine shop could redrill your hubs though.

nope. Volvo uses 5x4.75. Ferrari wheels fit without an adaptor too (provided adequate clearance)

Just get some HPP’s. Sexiest Vic wheel out there IMO.

Might want to check your numbers again. Volvo 240 uses 5 x 108mm

I have reworked hubs from a Jag rear end from 4.75 to 4.5, which in some respects is easier and safer than reworking an alloy wheel. Used a laser-cut steel template for drilling, checked my work with a micrometer. However: only that easy because of inboard brakes, and uniquely easy compared to some kind of exotic hub swap.

The others have already pointed out that this won’t work. Just let me add that you don’t only have to find the right bolt pattern, but also a hub size that works. Too large on the wheels will work, you can get center rings or just hope that the bolts will keep the wheels centered, but if they are too small, they won’t fit on your hub. Found that out while looking for used winter wheels for my car.

I could have sworn they were 5x120... Maybe I’ve just been hanging around too many modded Volvos..

Yea. For some reason I was thinking there’d be a little wiggle room. Sorry about that. Momentary lapse in judgement. Edited the post now...

Apparently my logic slipped there. Thought there might be some wiggle room, but that doesn’t make sense. I need more caffeine...

This answer is more along the lines of the question I was trying to ask, lol. I knew it wouldn’t be a direct fit, but wanted to know if there was a way to make them fit, lol. Thanks!

it depends on what you are drilling to fit. drilling the rims would be iffy. or you could take the axles to a machine shop and get them redrilled, along with the rear drums( i dont even know what volvos have back there) and take the front rotors and hubs, and get it all redrilled. or like someone else already said Adaptor spacers. the adaptors are probly the cheapest easiest way to make work.

the small chevy pattern is 5x4.75. unless you are measuring some funny way. its outside of first to center of the other skipping one in between right?

I like the HPPs, but they're too common, and are only 16s IIRC. I want some thing a little bigger and a little different.

The hub redrill is likely the workable solution . I’ve seen axle shafts and hubs drilled for a different pattern between the old stud positions. The wheels would also need some type of hub centric ring to take some stress off the studs.
